Vaccines have prevented the deaths of millions of feline friends worldwide. They boost your pet’s immunity against diseases – many of which can be passed on from pet to pet and even from pet to human. When you vaccinate your cat, you are not only keeping them safe but also countless others in your community. Diseases such as rabies and feline panleukopenia are expensive, time-consuming and potentially fatal. Vaccines are an easy way to save you and your cherished pet from any pain down the road.
We suggest that kittens receive their first set of injections anywhere between 6 to 8-weeks-old. Kittens are going to need to come back for several times during their first year of life to make sure they have the best foundation for their immunity. They will need to receive more shots/boosters every 3 to 4 weeks until they are approximately 16-weeks-old.
Definitely. Although the frequency will be far less compared to their first year of life. Depending on the exact vaccine, your cat will need to be vaccinated once every year or once every 3 years. Core vaccines are recommended for all cats (including the Rabies shot, which is required by law). While non-core vaccines will be suggested based on your cat’s lifestyle.
